Dr. Aaron Childs is great. He did his Bachelors, Masters AND PhD, and was invited to do his post doctoral fellowship in statistics, all at McMaster...he was then subsequently offered a permanent teaching job.
THAT is what I call being in-demand...such a successful track record is quite rare! Not to mention, he won numerous awards for TAing as a student (You can see his name on the plaque in Gilmore Hall!) and was my boss when I was an undergraduate TA...I've got nothing but good things to say about him.
Well, it is kind of odd...that he seems very comfortable (and infact, amazing) in front of a classroom...but if you ever talk to him one on one, or bump into him in the hallway, he says 'hello' and seems kind of awkward around you, haha. I guess so are the ways of the mathematicians...or maybe he was just awkward around me...guess I smell bad or something
As for the course itself, Stats 2B03 is one of, if not,
the easiest stats course at McMaster...it is mostly intuitive, and about determining which formula to use.
