Transfer student into life Sci

I'm just wondering if anyone from life Sci can give me some insight about the program. I'm currently in first year biological sciences (Concurrent education program though) at Brock.

I'm finding the academic environment fairly laid back and since my parents live in Dundas/west Hamilton I'm thinking of transferring to mcmaster for life Sci.

Does anyone have any negatives about the program? What is the work load like? Difficulty level in terms of generally how fair are the midterms and exams?
