Transfer- UTM to Mac Commerce
Hiya!

I'm currently a second year student at UTM commerce (i know, major boo!!) and wanna transfer to Mac (yaaay!!!).

I'm fully aware of the admission procedures, but I really wanna make sure I'm eligible for entry into Commerce II given my grades.

Currently, according to UTM's grading scale, my gpa's a 2.17 (about C or C+) with two courses (ECO and MATH first year) below a C- grade.

Am I eligible for a transfer? Please help!!! Life sucks out here in utm!!!

Commerce II is pretty popular, loads of internal transfers take place as well. Plus, I think there are limited seats. The more competitive your GPA, I think, the better your chance would be of getting in. Now I don't want to overestimate too much, but I still think at least a 3.5 would be good (or at least a B...I'm not sure how it translates between the 4-point scale).

Then again, I'm not in commerce. I've just lurked a bit around those commerce threads so...

I see, is it then possible for me to apply for Business I first, finish some prerequisites (seems like I'd have to repeat first year math and econ anyway), build up my gpa then transfer to Commerce II?

Besides, I'm planning on finishing a few more credits left for completing my second year, would put my gpa somewhere between 2.53-2.63 (around a C+ or B-)

*Sigh* utm was a bad choice, completely ruined my first year, and university experience in general!!

Commerce I is also very competitive as well. You would be in they same pool as applicants as grade 12s exiting high school and im pretty sure the avg to get in would be around the same as commerce II. It would also be better if you applied for a transfer earlier on like in april or may (but maybe that isnt possible not sure how transfers work. I think at this point your best bet would be to finish second year at UTM and try and transfer into Commerce II.

I'm not sure about this but if you applied to Business I, wouldn't they use your high school grades or are those too old at this point?

Im pretty sure they use both your high school marks and 1st yr university. Im not sure how they weight the marks though.
