Transfering Engineering streams
If I don't get into Mechanical for next year, but instead get into electrical or Tron, is it possible to switch into Mech at the end of Second year? How would you do that?

Why would you want to go through an entire year of another stream just to waste all those credits? seems pretty redundant if you ask me. This is the kind of questions that are best directed at academic counselors. You know, the people that mac hired to help students with these kinds of situations?

If your grades are good then you should be able to switch, but since some of the courses may not transfer over then you may have to do some during the summer or add on another year

Yes, it is possible, and many people do it. Try to just take the courses required for the program you want, though, otherwise, like stated above, you will be wasting money perusing credits you don't need.

As to how you do this, you would be best to get into contact with somebody at the engineering student services office in JHE for a more detailed plan.

You could but you need like a higher average (i believe 7+ or was it 9+) and write a letter to the faculty.

It is possible to switch to mechanical and as Leeoku said you need a high average (around 8 or 9 which is not so easy to get).
Instead of going through electrical i know people who took some econ/commerce courses for a full year, got good grades and went into civil (the same can be done to get into mechanical). However, this route will not 100% guarantee admissions into mechanical because you still need to work really hard to get that 9 or 8.5, and it might not be easy if you don't have interest in the courses that you will take.

The best option would be to speak to Sally Williams, i am sure she knows more regarding this.
