Transferring
Hey Everyone !

I just had a quick question. I am a first year student at Carleton University and I am hoping to transfer to McMaster this fall. My question is regarding the grades and what the admissions office considers when reviewing applicants. I am hoping to get accepted for 2nd yr Sociology Degree.

Now, I was a student who graduated high school with about an 85% average- and now this year in University I have had very fluctuating marks. One of my classes last semester I had a 50 and this semester, at least my socio mark is about an 87% and then another in the high 80's and two in the 60's. My question is, what will they really look at in order to accept me, if anyone knows? I am just scared I won't get in!

Any help would be fabulous !

Thanks Guys,

xo

Your best bet would be to call the department up and ask them. You can probably find the info on the website.

I don't know much about sociology, so I can't really give you any hints or stuff like that.

Here's the link to the department page. http://www.socsci.mcmaster.c a/sociology/ It has info regarding level II and such, but I don't see anything relating to transfer applicants. The page has their email and phone number. So be sure to contact them as soon as possible to find out what you have to do.

It might be hard to get into year 2 because your marks are all over the place the average might be to low. But if you wanted to get into first year you would have 0 problem seeing as they look at only highschool marks.
