Hello,

I'm a visiting student in McMaster only for 4 months, I know we will have the UHIP (The University Health Insurance Plan) Would it be advisable to get an extra insurance previous arriving Canada? Did someone have any problem that is not covered by the UHIP insurance. Is it only valid for Ontario or all Canada?

Please some opinions and experiences!

MSU Health Plan: Extended Coverage includes 80% if prescription medication, 50% of one eye examination, eyeglass repair reimbursement, accident expense reimbursement, ambulance expense reimbursement, tutorial expenses.

MSU DENTAL PLAN:
Coverage includes 100% Basic and preventative services, 75% minor restorative services, 75% extractions and residual root removal including two wisdom teeth per any policy year.

Since you're only 4 months, and I assume you get 100% coverage as most mac students, the only thing that wouldn't be covered is birth control and, nutritional supplements, and extenuating medical conditions.
