Chrome likes to disable the default PDF reader and use its (overly) simplistic plug-in. Which makes it harder to do anything productive. To restore the normal adobe PDF reader (or better yet get PDF XChange viewer) simply

1. Type "about:plugins" in the address bar (without the quotes)
2. Hit enter
3. Click on details (near the top right)
4. Disable "Chrome PDF Viewer" and enable the Adobe one
