Using transit
Having come from a small city with next to no public transit, the whole bus thing is kind of confusing.

What is the line I'd need to take if I wanted to get to university plaza? How often do the buses run and is pick-up/drop-off at the go bus terminal?

You can actually use Google maps to plan your trips using public transportation in Hamilton.

Go bus =/= city bus.
HSR (city buses) don't go to the Go bus terminal. There are HSR stops on campus between the student centre/divinity college, across from LSB, and by T13 (three in total). There is also one in front of the hospital facing Main St, and one at Emerson & Main, and one at Leland & Main. The last two run east/west on Main St (I don't really know anything about the hospital stop, so I'll pretend it doesn't exist ).

If you go to the Main & Emerson or Main & Leland stops, and take a bus going West (to your right if you're on Main St facing away from campus), then you will get to University Plaza. Any bus going in that direction will stop there. The B-line actually goes directly into UP, while the other ones stop across the street, but the B-line only stops at Main & Leland (I think...I know it only stops at ONE of them, and I'm pretty sure it's Main & Leland, but it could be Main & Emerson )

If you want to get to UP, don't go to any of the bus stops on campus! (the student centre one or the LSB one or the T13 one) Those ones go down Emerson and will NOT take you to the right place
