Volunteer with CVA...spaces are still available. Sign-up!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their week so far! I just wanted to spotlight some agencies this year that have been doing some amazing work in the Hamilton area among kids and youth. We here at CVA would really appreciate if you could extend a helping hand and sign-up to volunteer. The following are some groups that are still in need of volunteers, so this is your chance to sign-up before spots get taken.

The Afterschool Program @ Eva Rothwell Community Centre is a great way to get involved in working with kids ages 6 to 14! This would be an opportunity to help facilitate activities varying from arts and crafts to physical exercise. Both the Monday and Friday time slots from 3:30pm-6:30pm are still open to volunteers.

The Dr. Davey Breakfast Program @ the Beasley Community Centre is another initiative that engages children in positive conversation during breakfast ,teaching respect and playing inclusive games; volunteers will also have the opportunity to help with both cooking and cleaning up. Thursday and Friday from 7:45am to 9:45am are still available for those who want to sign-up.

The LAF (Learning and Fun) @the Welcome Inn Community Center caters to at-risk kids from Grades 1-8 letting volunteers interact in small groups and one-on-one using fun and creative tools to teach academics, and assist the LAF coordinator with activities. If you are interested, spaces are still up for grabs for Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays (all from 3:00pm-5:30pm).

If you're interested in any of the groups listed above, you still have an opportunity to sign-up through the CVA website www.OpenCircle.mcmast er.ca/volunteer. Please follow the link and get in touch with the facilitators of the groups.

I think this would be an excellent opportunity for someone who's really looking to connect with the community in an amazing manner. Unfortunately I'm occupied at all the slots mentioned.
