Heres something that was sent to me that is super helpful:

Also... talk with Christina Burns in the MSU, she runs campus events.

CLAY is already too late.. since it's actually starting this week.

But you still have a chance to take part as a staff of HORIZONS (the leadership conference I told you about that is for first year incoming students to Mac). It's SUPER FUN! I enjoyed CLAY more, since highschool students are young and really aspirational, but Horizons is just as good. Definitely don't miss out!!!

They say that they are going to be putting up applications for Staff 2nd WEEK OF MAY. SO THATS SOON!

The conference runs in August.

Oh yeah, and OSCAR is good to find stuff possibly.

If you're looking for general volunteering, you could always just go to random places like the Salvation army, Good Shepard, churches, hospitals, and other social work places.

The process to become a hospital volunteer isnt too long but they dont have positions open very often so thats why it sometimes takes awhile to get a position.

I enjoyed volunteering at the hospital because it was nice and close and I was able to schedule in shifts between classes.

The Special Needs Assistance Program (SNAP) at the Pulse is looking for summer volunteers, and they are super flexible accomodating your schedule. The minimum committment is about 2 hours, and you spend that time working with a Pulse member with a disability, helping them with their workout and providing encouragement. No fitness experience is needed (although it would be helpful if you do have experience). Contact Julie Hiemstra at j.hiemstra[at]sympatico[dot]ca for more info.
