My friend runs the Superhero training Academy and she asked me to pass this along! It's for a great cause!!
GREAT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY!
The Superhero Training Academy is a program for children with special needs aged 5 to 16. The program strives to improve fitness
fundamentals, while placing an emphasis on gaining social skills, such as listening to instructions and working co-operatively in groups.
The program offers a one-hour session from 10 AM to 11 AM on Saturday mornings. The spring session is scheduled to start on May 8th and run for 8 weeks. Each volunteer will work one-to-one with a child, and is required to plan and execute an exercise program with this child. If you are interested in volunteering with the Superhero Training Academy please hand is a resume to The Pulse located in the David Braley Athletic Center. Lastly, in order to volunteer with the Superhero Training Academy you will be required to get a police check and CPR training.
