Generalizations are never (and there goes a generalization) fun.
I'm in Commerce and I admit that most of the people I saw at Faculty Day weren't that...super enthusiastic (compared to the Engineers which was the only group whose cheer I actually witnessed (I had to leave constantly)), it doesn't mean the rest of our faculty doesn't care.
To clear up some general misconceptions that I've seen floating around the forums and to reiterate that they can't be applied to a whole body of people:
A. Not every Commerce kid is in it because they really care about cash.
They may be interested in a graduate program separate from the areas of commerce and believe that a degree in the subject would allow them to better pursue that Masters.
B. Not every Commie is out for themselves or uninterested in what doesn't provide them with profits.
Studying over 150 pages of chemistry doesn't profit a Commerce major in any way
While I know that these conceptions have sprung to fruition for a reason and do have some basis in fact, it's important to remember that a faculty is comprised of individuals who could be spirited, enthusiastic, passionate and enthusiastic and feel great dismay that this trend is not one reflected throughout the body of their academic colleagues.
