if you're in residence then ive heard it can be a good way to connect with people and have a loud, rowdy, party-type time.
If you're off-campus, then its not as great as it is for residence ppl (from what ive heard). but still quite fun if u go to events that are open to all or are off-campus events.
If you commute (like me) then it might probably be even less fun.

As for macpass (or whatever they call it now) I personally found that to be over-rated and a waste of money. I made good friends over the course of time in my first year and not in frosh week. The people i came to know in frosh week just faded away because we had diff programs or faculties and hardly met each other after W.W.

Welcome week does give u your very first chance to have fun at Mac but having fun is not just restricted to welcome week, u can party whenever u want

You should attend as many events as possible during welcome week! It's a great way to meet new people! A lot of people put a lot of time and effort to make welcome week possible for you guys, so get out, meet some new people and have fun! If you don't want to participate in an event, they won't force you =P

Three words: Free laundry bag!

I lived off-campus so my Welcome Week probably wasn't as fun as the people that lived on res, but I would have definitely regretted it if I didn't go!

Any cool kids here who didn't party during WW, and still had fun? Tryin' to rep this crowd but it's seeming kinda nonexistant. :(

Frosh week parties are trippy. Although I did enjoy it when they broke up parties with those sexy, muscular horses.

omg the laundry bag came in so helpful. I bought one from one of those home places and the weekend my parent dropped me , we couldnt figure out how to put it up as i think a piece was missing... couple hours later went to pick up my ww package.. the laundry bag was great.. not cheap quality. Im planning on using it next year.

There was a survey about it in May, so I doubt we'll find out till July/early August

I didn't go to Welcome Week - kinda the best one-hundred-odd dollars I saved. Then again, I'm not really the kind who loves socializing.

I still ended up making plenty friends throughout the year. So it all depends on you.

I definitely found it to be worth the money. The concerts were great, the faculty days were pretty fun, the 1280 nights were awesome, and everything in general was just so relaxed and fun. But, like others have said, it really depends on whether you're sociable or not. I'm off-campus and met just as many people and had just as much fun as most people that I know on-campus.
