Westdale Theatre For Sale - $1.79 Million

 

The iconic Westdale Theatre in Westdale is a very memorable building and one that has served as the centrepiece of Westdale Village since it was built in the 1930's.

Just before Christmas it was listed on Royal LePage’s website for $1.79 million.

The building is not currently protected under the Ontario Heritage Act. Ward 1 Councillor Aidan Johnson hopes to address before it is sold.

Yeah sure why not.

Not sure we can change anything, if money is not there, it's not going to stay. If I remember correctly, McMaster used to have a large garden with fountains, then they bulldozed it ~50 years ago to build Westdale housing on top of it.

If it's going to cost us taxpayers to designate it as a heritage building then forget it.

movie theatres are all dying out : ( it kind of sucks
altho i like to think ppl are just watching the foreign and ind films at home now instead instead of no one watching anythign good at all
