50 million scholarly journals
The 27-year-old graduate student from Kazakhstan is operating a searchable online database of nearly 50 million stolen scholarly journal articles, shattering the $10 billion-per-year paywall of academic publishers.

We get them for free already through the Mac library article database.

And I find many of the important articles are also available for free through Google Scholar.

This is actually really helpful when you're not on campus and can't access certain papers (or if you can't find it on the library database, which has happened to me before).
Hopefully this site stays up #FreeTheKnowledge

The principle of free knowledge goes beyond access off/on campus access or just having access through a closed university database.

Yup, I've used that before and had trouble finding papers a few times. It usually has what you're looking for though.

Also, I agree it's not about being able to access papers off campus. There are problems with scholarly publishing. http://www.vox.com/2016/2/17/1102433...cademic-papers
