So I've noticed that everyone uses this cheer a lot, I guess its a Whidden cheer...
So you're looking for a victory?
Well that makes you a wisher
But one thing that is for sure
You ain't no Howard Whidden
Howard Whidden
Where is he?
I dunno, I dunno
Howard Whidden
Where is he?
I dunno, I dunno
So go ask your mama
And make sure that you listen
Cause one thing that is for sure
You ain't no Howard Whidden
Howard Whidden
Where is he?
I dunno, I dunno
Howard Whidden
Where is he?
I dunno, I dunno
I was wondering if you guys new where that comes from? cause when I first read it I was like WHAT!! THEY STOLE THAT FROM SNL!!!! lol, its a saturday night live skit with will ferrell, and its actually my all time favourite skit!! You guys probably already knew that, but I thought I'd say it anyway. This alone makes me want to live at whidden!!

Yup! We know it's from SNL!
A lot of cheers are stolen from other universities. Most cheers aren't original. However, Whidden Hall has the best stolen cheers! You should definitely live there!!! =) That's where I lived in first year and where I'll be living in September again!

Whidden love stays strong!!
The group of people who lived on 4th floor (better on top) in the 70s is still actively forming reunions: http://www.mcmaster.ca/ua/alumni/events/special.htm

I posted this in the other forum but I guess it's more applicable here, heh
The positives about the residence: a lot of spirit, it's well balanced-- if you want a party there'll be one but if you want quiet there's room for it as well, people get really close in whidden because of it's set up since it's not apartment style and such, people for some reason tend to get really involved at mac after living in whidden, there's the underground tunnel to commons so we don't have to go outside in the cold winter when we're hungry, celebrities have lived in whidden in the past, there's an AMAZING staff living in Whidden next year, we got new laundry machines so washing and drying will be way easier, and i know more people can fill in information for this section
Negatives- communal washrooms-- but you'll have your own washroom so you have nothing to worry about. But to make a negative a positive- sharing a washroom with people brings people together as well!

Spirit and tradition. Whidden is the res with the most tradition, hands down.
There is actually a lot of myth about Whidden too...for example, the Whidden Riots created the idea for the film Animal House. It is a myth...but the Whidden Riots were still interesting!
Rico!
The only res on campus with a discernable logo! Everyone knows the Whidden logo. And Whidden alumni paint it on their rep suits, regardless of what res, faculty, or group they are a representative for.
The common rooms are central to the floor. This means everyone has equal access to them, and you can meet lots of people that way.
There is likely more I'm forgetting...
