Why play games when you can play life instead?
Ever noticed how people are addicted to games nowaday?

Main culprit is the Role-Playing Game (RPG) variety. Every video game genres now has RPG elements. Earning Experience Point (XP), Leveling up after hitting certain XP. Etc...

Why is this so addictive? Because it gives a sense of accomplishment (even if it is false).

One company decided to implement RPG into life with their product. Introducing Green Goose with their "Track your lifestyle" idea.

The idea is to attach a motion sensing device on something mundane like a toothbrush. If you use it within the preset time and duration you will earn points (or XP). Levels will be earned and Rewards will be based of how much points you earn.

Finally we all can stop playing games and start playing life.

Pre-order start Feb. 28... No actual release date on when we all can start playing life.

I brush my teeth...what is this? I don't get addicted to games so I don't sympathize with those sorts of people.

... it seems like a lot of hassle having to stick sensors on everything you use :\

Totally imagining more students having a low sense of self-worth because the sensor deducted points for hitting the snooze button more than once.

This is sad. If you need 'achievement points / exp.' to motivate you to brush your teeth, you're not going anywhere in life. Also, seems like this is marketed towards MMO players and Call of Duty tards, seeing as they use achievements/ xp. Lol this disgusts me. (All this is coming from an addicted gamer :O)

Pretty sure the idea came from this.

Not sure if it'll be effective though. While you can physically quantify your accomplishments with exercising, it's hard to actually see your results with things like brushing your teeth. What's the point of levelling up if you can't make use of it?

I'm assuming any "rewards" given would be useless, unless you actually get stuff in the mail.

Since people bring up gaming addicts, I am now having fun entertaining the thought of someone getting addicted to brushing their teeth.

"I can't stop brushing! Only 6 more hours until I hit Plaque-Slaying Overlord!"

Eventually there will be 3rd-party services that will do all the sticking for you... For a low low price of $99 + travelling cost.

Why so half-empty? Couldn't it be the other way around?

Totally imagining more students having a high sense of self-worth when the sensor gives points for waking up within 5 snoozes.

If one manage to do it within 1 snooze...

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED! "Woke up when you are suppose to!" / Less than 1 snooze for waking up.

Reward and achievement can probably tied into other life activities.

Want to take down that Level 9 Elite Human Female wielding double Ds?

Must have:
  • plus/minus 1 Level
  • +5 to white teeth
  • +10 to strength
  • 5000 gold

There is probably a respawn timer to prevent constant farming.

Every good games nowaday has it!
