Wind Mobile
Is anyone on Wind at the moment?

I want to switch over in September but I keep hearing bad things about their network coverage and extra hidden fees. Can anyone tell me their personal experience?

No hidden fees, and coverage is only an issue if you're commuting from some strange land (other than toronto)

There are no hidden fees; I've been with WIND since December (I got the Unlimited Text+Talk+Data for $40/month) and I generally have perfect coverage in Toronto/Hamilton. Of course, some obsecure buildings (lecture halls in TSH) give me bad service, but all my friends seem to have the same issue with their carriers there as well.

But you can't beat their prices! Here is the coverage area: http://care.windmobile.ca/Support/Co...p/roaming.aspx

The coverage is not great in some areas a few minutes away from campus, I happened to have moved to a "dead zone", even though I am clearly within the "coverage zone". If you live on campus though you will be fine

My boyfriend has it and he's in Toronto when he comes to visit in Hamilton though he gets pretty good service. I would say it's really unreliable though because some random spots here and there are 'away' zones and there are many times where he just randomly shows him away when like a few minutes ago he was home in the same spot. So it's obviously the cheaper option but there are a few frustrations with the service I guess if you can live with it then go for it.

Yeah I have the miracle plan too! So nice with unlimited everything! The coverage should get better as time goes hopefully coz I heard they're expanding more in hamilton.

I've been with wind for a few months now and they're great! I've only had one service problem in Toronto and I've never had an issue in Hamilton on campus or in Westdale. I've even be able to get full bars in the basements of arts quad. They are great for anyone with family in the GTA who comes to mac. They also have free calls to any wind customer across Canada, plus their coverage zones are still expanding. Prices are fantastic as well. Definitely recommend t to any mac student with family in the GTA.

I wouldn't particularly consider Wind's service to be shitty. Honestly, the network gets better day by day and when you look at what you get for the price, everyone has shitty pricing.

Holiday Miracle Plan unite! I pay $40 for what would otherwise be $90 to $100 on Rogers, for service that's almost as good. Wind's home zone is PERFECT for my travel in between Toronto and Hamilton.
