Hah, I was looking through some of my old photos, and the only ones I have that show most of the outside of the building are from when a massive tree in Cootes Paradise decided to fall onto it one day :p
The people on that side of the building got one hell of a wake-up call...

Having lived there in first year, I would say it's pretty dark...
The default room structure (at least my room was like that when I first moved in) is "long", with your desk, bed, chest, and closet, all in one line in that order. However, there is only a light at the desk and one for your closet. I found it really dark in between...
It is also not very attractive on the inside, being one of the older buildings, but I'm comparing to much nicer/newer buildings such as Keyes or Les Prince. It's quite comfortable and liveable overall though, and having air conditioning is a plus, for those really hot, sticky days!

Yep, it does. It's generally only needed for the first few weeks in September and the last few in April, however, so it's not quite the saviour that everyone thinks it is :p
You may still want to bring a small fan to keep the air circulating in your room, and especially for rare unseasonably hot days when the heating is active and not the A/C (since in a large building of that age, it's not a trivial task to switch the system over from heating to cooling, so they don't do it for temporary warm spells).

The showers are in a room connected to the bathrooms on each floor. There are 3 individual shower stalls, each blocked with a curtain, and one bathtub/shower, also blocked with a curtain - so they're relatively private.
As for trails, there's a very extensive trail system running through Cootes Paradise, which is right next to Woodstock (the closest trail entrance is right between Brandon and Woodstock, just off to the right of Brandon's entrance). The trails vary in width and surface, with the widest ones being about 3 feet and covered with gravel, and the narrowest being just a dirt path. You'll have to do some exploring to determine which are suitable for running, but people certainly do it. Many people also just run through campus on the various paved walking paths, since until shortly before the first classes at 8:30 am, they're pretty deserted.

i know there was a question about washrooms.... this mite sound a bit silly, but because the washrooms are shared on each level... that means we take a shower in that washroom and then change in our rooms?
do u have to wait for the washroom everyday? or is it just your luck to get it once you wake up... and do the waskrooms get cleaned everyday?
How many people share that one washroom on one floor?

You can change in the bathroom if you'd like, that's what I did. What you should do is buy a bathrobe for res before you get there, that way you can walk to the bathroom in your bathrobe, flip flops (which are a MUST in public bathrooms) and your towel and soaps and stuff. That way you're completely covered between walking to bathroom and bedroom.
And about wait times, you usually don't have too much of a problem because eveyones schedules are different and not everyone showers in the morning, sometimes people shower at night. If you're a morning shower person you'll figure out when is the best time to have your morning shower and the same thing if you're a night time shower person. I was a morning shower person and I only had to wait once or twice and usually people are quick in the mornings esp if there's someone waiting.

I heard a rumour that Woodstock's washrooms are being renovated over this summer... can anyone shed some light on the truth of this? Thanks.
