Working Part-Time during University
Hey guys,

Would working part-time (i.e. Friday, Saturday, Sunday) affect your grades?

Thanks!

Science usually has midterms on Friday evenings.

No problem. Although I should mention that economics is notorious for saturday midterms. So just be careful with that.

Yep, For the past couple years Econ 1B03 and 1BB3 have had midterms on Saturday, either morning 9ish or afternoon 2ish.

The evening classes has their midterms in class though...

Yeah; Don't worry, it starts with just Economics in first year. In second year Commerce, you're going to have 99% of your midterms on Friday and Saturday.....usually back to back. It's a pain lol

Hey just so you know, the SRA will be looking into Saturday midterms this year and will be writing a policy on it. Once the appropriate committees look into it, and get the research done, we will lobby against them if we think it would be better for students.

Hahaha, he's not kidding. Greg is going to be my lawyer/accountant/MS Access fix it wonderman, I've decided on this, even if he doesn't know it yet.

I also work part time during the year and I find that as long as you stay on top of all of your responsibilities you'll be fine. I usually start assignments as soon as I get them and thus I can do them in small bits over a longer period of time. I find it helps me get things done.

Most employers should be willing to work around your school schedule or let you have time off for midterms and exams. Everywhere I've worked has been really good about that kind of stuff (even when I was in high school); they realise how important school is.

I.. kind of like Saturday midterms. >.> I don't know why. I always had French midterms early Saturday mornings, and I got to go home and enjoy the rest of my day.
