It totally is, to be honest, there are not many SSW jobs out there, while there are a lot more jobs out there for a social worker. Also, a high paying SSW job would be about 24/hr, while a high paying SW job can sometimes be 40/hr. If you get a BSW an MSW is only one year, so that's something to think about as well.
