Wuck Festern
I mentioned this in another topic but never really got a straight answer, and it looks like that thread has been deleted now.
I'm wondering if anyone has insight as to why this was/is a good idea as a "motto" for our school, and to design t-shirts and such around it.
It just seems so classless to me, and that we could do better to have pride for our schools.
What do you think?

Does that make it OK for us to wear them then?
Seriously people, it's childish.

well they are not really sponsored by anyone on campus, so if students want to buy those shirts, its their choice...personally i agree and think its really stupid...if you are gonna make a shirt that says wuck festern, you may as well just have some balls and say **** western

Yeah, I agree with pheonix. We're better than Western by definition ( ), we may as well show a bit of class.

Listen, I'm sorry if you have beef with me personally, but I think it's a legitimate question.
I want to know why people like the shirts *shrug*
How about you contribute something constructive to the argument.

Because of one thing: It adds the "spice" to everyday life: variety. If everyday, you have the same routine, wear the same shirt, and follow everyone's rules, you'll turn out to be dull and boring.
It's that rebel inside of everyone that makes them behave, choose, and do such things. If you say that cars shouldn't exceed 50 mph because driving above 50 mph is childish and dangerous, then you're missing out on something. As Jeremy Clarkson said, "It's not speed that kills you, it's the sudden stop that does."
"Nuts swingin', swingin' my nuts." Mac engineers have this cheer. Others may find it childish and dirty, but that's exactly the reason why we do it.

I don't know what posting on really old threads has anything to do with class?
But anyway.
At the football game vs Laurier, the Maroons were singing "..something something something.. F*ck you, Laurier"
I guess McMaster is pretty liberal when it comes to this kind of thing.

See that bugs me. Doesn't that bug you?
If you're going to make fun, at least come up with something clever...

Well for me personally; Seeing those shirts I could only imagine me wearing them and walking past someone shouting "WUCK FESTERN YEAAAAHHH" who shakes his head and thinks : "What a douchebag" :S
Saying something obscene is slightly more acceptable when you are part of a mob mentality then putting it on your tshirt! I mean some of the soccer chants include much worse themes then four letter words: Poking fun at dead people, Racism, Pedophilia, " Antisemitism", four letter words at your parents and even worse.

Meh, I was mostly saying that you seem to jump into threads solely to stir shit up.
Internet forums are serious business.
