for those who are taking organic chem this summer @ york, do you remember what the prof said about how the tests work?

I missed first week (was on waiting list) so I missed what his speech but I overheard some people talking in class that if you miss first test, percentage goes to second tests automatically and something about 3rd test is seperate and thus is required to be written and the weight of it cannot be transferred.
Can anyone verify this or correct me please.
also, are the tests cumulative after 1st or not?
