Yeah, I agree. Iíve been going to school in downtown Toronto for the past 6 year... When I went to McMaster during [email protected], it felt totally different.

I think itíll be fine after a month or two. It just takes some time to settle in.

I didn't exactly live downtown, but it sure felt like downtown Toronto compared to Hamilton >.< Maybe the atmosphere on campus will make up for it a little bit.

Yeah, it would suck if you're from Toronto, especially from Downtown Toronto. It'll be so peaceful for you guys here in Hamilton. :p

My only fear is that my 2nd year is a repeat of my first year: me trying to meet people but my psycho ex boyfriend scaring them off by hacking my msn/facebook/iphone and thus resulting in me not having a lot of friends.

Get a restraining order... it might seem extreme, but you do what you gotta do!

Using communal washrooms can be a huge adjustment. Being insecure, I had a lot of difficulty prior to move in. I was really scared and didn't want to use communal washrooms. At first it definitely takes a bit of adjusting to, however, you'll soon realize that it is not as scary as one may think.

Suggestions:

1. Some floors have private washrooms that lock. For example, a person in Whidden can shower and change in the first floor.
2. Use the shower at off times. There are certain times of the day when fewer people use the washroom. During 10 am- 5pm usually people are in and out of class so it's less likely for there to be a lot of traffic in the washrooms.

Also, one of my biggest fears was having someone stealing my clothes while I was in the shower. That has never happened so that's not even something to be slightly concerned about.

camais, ~*Sara*~ all say thanks to ferreinm for this post.

I know you have already resolved the issue. However, for anyone who is in the situation where they have a possessive significant other, please speak to a counsellor at CSD, or your residence Community Advisor to help out. McMaster offers various services so using them can be highly beneficial.

1. Concerned about not having enough money for books/supplies/living costs
2. I might not be able to get a job because of the heavy workload
3. Not being able to find a job, even if I decided to work
4. Not having enough work experience when I graduate (especially related to my chosen field)
5. Meeting the pre-requisites and qualifications to get into an internship in final year
