I don't think that Indians nor Pakistanis speak 'erdu', first of all. Second, linguistic arguments only make the very little sense that they can possibly make when you refer to
mother-tongue. Assuming you meant 'Urdu', while the majority of Pakistanis speak it, it's not the mother-tongue of most. The majority of Indians don't even speak Urdu (there is a significant portion that speaks Hindi, but still - the vast majority don't speak it as their mother tongue). In any case, it's not remotely convincing as an argument.
To illustrate, let's extend your logic, shall we? Since French is an official language of Canada & Rwanda, we can apply your rule of inference to conclude from an ethnicity-as-nationality standpoint (the least sophisticated demarcation, I believe - unfortunate that you didn't develop it much more) that Canadians and Rwandans are, in fact, ethno-culturally identical.
