They admit a handful of underagers, but you have to get there early. Obviously you'll be wristbanded so you can't drink.
But clubbing sober is not fun in my opinion :\

Well, that's for the drinking age. You could still go if you are 18 but it probably won't be much fun... But who am I to say, maybe you don't need alcohol to have fun

1280's great because it's SO convenient to get to! No busses or expensive cabs that you have to fight over at the end of the night...provided you live near campus, that is.
Plus it's under new management this year, and there's gonna be tons of great events and a delicious new menu!
P.S. The Phoenix is great, but you can't dance there...just sayin'

That's their summer hours. During the school year, they're open all day and into the night.
This year 1280 is under new management with a revamped menu so expect great things to come!
And whether you're under 18 or 19+, you can have a great time at 1280 on their Thursday night club parties, where you can find an awesome crowd and awesome music!!!

1280 is named as such because McMaster's address is 1280 Main St West.
As for the name of the Phoenix...I'm not sure. Unless it's somehow a tribute to the bar (the Downstairs John [I think?]) that was in the basement of Wentworth House previously.

That's why you acquire alcohol and pre-drink it .

there was one time I went and how they did it was dumb on their part. the people 19+ didn't get a wristband, but the ones 18 and under did. everyone that was 18 and under just ripped off their wristband and threw it into the garbage and could buy drinks

They used to keep your student card as insurance, and to get it back you'd have to show that you still had the wristband on...but yeah, I went once when I was 18 and they didn't ask for my student card or anything, they just gave me a wristband. I didn't drink at all, but I still took off the wristband

Lol, that's pretty stupid. Guess they just wanted to save money.

LOLL wow, well, I'll have to check it out some time. If it's under new management, no one would really know what it is, but I got a lot of positive comments here, so ya I think I will x)
