So I went to 1280...
So, I went to 1280 today with a friend at 6:00 and at the time it was only slightly busy...so it took about 5 minutes to get menus, and then another 10 to get WATER. I ordered the irish nachos, which came out about 25 minutes later, reasonable enough...but the lattice fries were COLD, the lettuce and tomatoes horribly chopped and the best part of all...the cheese was rock solid ...
it was utter crap!
in any case, the waitress came around and i said it didnt taste very fresh and she offered to have them make a new plate...which would have been okay if i had all the time in the world...
which i assume most university students DO NOT HAVE!
ANYWAYS she took it away, the manager came around and offered free dessert, which was very nice of her
just thought i'd share this pleasant or unpleasant experience...not sure what to make of it really...a little disappointing i must say, regardless of the fact that i got free dessert out of it, but came out having wasted about an hour and a half and still hungry...

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago when I ordered poutine. The gravy was all hard and gross, and the fries were cold. My guess is that the food was cooked, but for some reason it was left out for like 15 minutes before the waitress brought it to us.
At least you got free dessert. Did you get a fresh plate of nachos too?

i decided not to since that would've taken a fair bit of time to get and there was no guarantee it would've been fresh either
ugh..its just frustrating because there's no reason for it to be sitting around
but yes i do appreciate the dessert!!

I don't know but I've only had positive things to say for 1280.
I always enjoyed their burgers and onion rings with a pitcher of Canadian!

I have yet to go to 1280 but I'm less inclined to go now that I hear they make the Irish nachos crappy (unless it was just a fluke), those were the best at Quarters.

Maybe the key to enjoying that place is a pitcher of Canadian

I think it was a fluke. I've been there quite a few times this year and I've only had one or two bad experiences.

I used to frequent Bridges when I lived in residence (the last two years) and I never saw not one roach. Actually it was one of the nicest, cleanest places on campus.

I only went to 1280 once this year, and that was during its opening week. I'm more of a Phoenix man myself.

My boyfriend and I tried to go there the other day but it was PACKED and no one was helping us. We stood near the entrance for like 10 minutes before someone came up. By that point, we decided to go to 1280 instead.
What time is The Pheonix not insanely busy?
