13.3" Macbook Pro (Unibody)
To all users of the new Macbook Pro, I'd like to request a favour.
Could you please turn it around and examine the Apple logo super carefully and see if there are any dead spots or black marks inside it?
Thanks very much

who cares about the logo?

oh right, you're paying hundreds extra for the design and look of the laptop

My concern isn't that it's there; I'm worried that it appeared without cause.
It's evidently not dust because it appears a blackish-blue.
I'm worried that it's a deadspot and if so whether I'll be incurring more of these in time.
I saw the spot after 2 months and if it suddenly popped up, that can't be a good thing.

egh he can afford it whatever.

i'm not sure what it could be since i believe the apple is lit up simply by the back light of the screen.

do you have any pics?

I have a 15" MBP, logo is fine but its also relatively new. If you are really concerned about it might wanna try calling apple and/or checking warranty info

Mine's perfectly fine but....if the laptop is working fine I don't think much worry needs to be there for the logo. You can call Apple and ask them but it'll probably cost you more money to get it fixed than is really necessary. And to be honest, how significant is the logo when it's on the opposite side of the screen.....

Mine is fine.

You can always go in to the Yorkdale/Eaton Centre Store and have them check it out since it's still under warranty.

the macbook logo uses the same backlight as the screen, so I'd inspect your screen if it has some faults.

otherwise, you could do this if it's really bugging you: http://www.applemacbook.com/mods/see...own-apple-logo

6 business days at Mac Micro and probably a few hundred dollars to repair a cosmetic issue I did not cause.

Yup, still covered under warranty (it's only 2 months old) but it doesn't encompass "cosmetic damage" as the attendant told me.

Next time I would definitely go to the Eaton's Store or the Yorkdale store. It takes them less time to repair and the usually don't charge. My top case was cracking and they replaced it for free even though it's a cosmetic thing.

goodnews.inc says thanks to Lois for this post.
