2 quick engineering questions
1) Im in level 1 engineering, and i wanted to know when can you chose/apply to specialize in something like mechanical or electrical engineering.

2) Thursdays and fridays classes this week, we just go to Core classes only right? no labs or tutorials?

You choose what stream of engineering you're going into near the end of first year.. I think it was in March or April. That way you have all of first year to determine what interests you and what doesn't.

No labs or tutorials for the first week of class, just core (lectures).

Basically all your classes dip into every stream, and you get a taste of what you might like. Along with that you will also have info sessions about different streams that start sometime in Feb/March, after which you pick your stream (end of March I think). After exams, everyone's averages are tallied up and they pick people based on averages / # of pple wanting the stream.

And there are no tutorials / labs for this week, and I'm pretty sure none next week too. Prof will tell you tho.
