Yup, for sure. If you take the time to review the scientific literature, you'll see we stand no chance in 2012.

OMG this makes me so friggin' mad.

The article kinda hints at the fact that the Mayan calender is cyclical, thereby inferring that the world will not end, but continue.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Nah. I'm not worried about it. I'll just give Chuck Norris a call and tell him to reschedule.

Lol, I wonder how many people use calendars at home and how they react on December 31st when they see that's when the calendar ends...

You mean, people actually believe in the 2012 schtick? It always amazes me how naive and gullible the general public is.

I agree.

I know several ppl who believe that the americans never landed on the moon.
It seriously makes me question why our species is considered 'intelligent'.

If the world does end in 2012, I hope it's a zombie apocalypse.

Its not just the end of Mayan Calendar guys! Even though that seems to get the attention of most people. It is also Jupiter, Earth, Mars and a couple of other planets aligning perfectly in a line against the Milkyway; And in doing so it would appear as if the milky way is rising exactly from the centre of River Nile. Also what really gets me(If its true) is that the Ancient Pyramids of Egypt were place in a way(Yeah they weren't placed randomly! :S) that on Winter Soltisce 2012 the Orions Belt would be directly alligned/above the pyramids and the Spinhx. There also have been mentions of this date in the Ancient Chinese and Sumerian Civilizations. Therefore it is kind of wierd that these civilizations with not alot of contact with each other have accounts about that day!

But 90% of the people who have heard of this day assume that it is a "world will end" and get destroyed prophecy! It clearly isn't! Nowhere was it mentioned explicity, its just a myth. What was mentioned was that the world will move into a state of "enlightenment" whatever that means I have no idea! :S

There ofcourse are astronomists who say there is a high suspectability of Solar flares but ahh I wish I was as AstroPhysics savvy today as I was 2-3 years ago when I first research/heard about this thing!

I don't think that the world will end... but I do think that something big and significant will definetly happen that will affect a large percentage, if not all, of the population of this planet.

On another note, I can't wait till the movie 2012 comes out!

I would actually be very happy if the world ended that day.
I know what you're thinking - pretty freaking morbid.
No, not morbid at all.
I don't have to slave during my last semester; EVERYBODY would die meaning I'd just see them later and we stop committing the atrocities we currently are.
I don't have to worry about paying off OSAP.
Yes and no fears about post graduate. Very nice.
I also don't have any worries about growing old and being without love you know cause if that's not a fear of yours, you're high.
I would have an eternal winter break.
I don't have to worry about reselling my textbooks.
Um what else...I don't have to worry about catching the GO Bus...yeah.

Again though this is only applicable if EVERYONE dies.
If I just die that'd just suck cause I'd be all up wherever I was and my loved ones would be down here, slowly breathing in the toxic gases that will ruin our species.

But no I don't believe any of this. It'll be interesting to watch everyone freakout though. It'll be like Y2K times a million.
