I don't think you have to pay for clinical itself, just for any costs of living. So if you are doing clinical in another town where you don't live, you'll have to find your own rent (and the cost depends on the place) as well as buy your own food.

Holy crap, $3000 on top of the normal tuition is just crazy. That's like around $10,000 for 2nd year.

Welcome to the world of placements. Paying to work for free
I'm doing it right now, the one good thing about not being paid is that they can't justify making you do scut work (filing, photocopying, etc) so it does benefit your learning experience in that sense, but yeah it really sucks.

Wow, that's horrible :/.. Wait, does co-op work the same too? As in, you still pay tuition but you also get paid?

I dont know how co-op is for science. But for engineering , we pay 100 per year whether you work or not. Then $300 per 4 months of working.

**** the what. Just switched into medrad under the impression that because they called it CO-OP, I'd get paid. (This was in the undergraduate course calendar.) Why the **** is it called co-op if you're paying to do it? :|

thats odd that they call it co-op ... we usually refer to it as clinical...becuase we have to pay and work for free....
