Is 6GB data enough for BlackBerry?
Hey guys,

Okay so I recently got a blackberry and I needed to add my data feature back onto my plan and I was just wondering, is 6GB of data per month more than enough? I called up Virgin Mobile and they said they've never seen anyone go over it so if any of you guys could confirm this, it would be great. I'm not too good with all this tecnology stuff, haha.

Thanks in advance!

You will NEVER EVER go over 6GB of data on a blackberry even if you're a heavy user. I bet you won't even pass 500MB. Blackberries heavily compress data so you use a lot less than other smartphones. Even on another smartphone, it's more than enough.

Way more than what you need. What do you plan on doing with it in terms of web browsing? Streaming radio might be a bit iffy, though I doubt you'd even approach 2Gb

(for comparison, I used 200Mb last month... hahaha, android)

The only way you will ever reach 6GB is if you tether

IqzFendi says thanks to Crzyrio for this post.

Tethering is basically the only reason to get unlim data or as much as you're getting... unless you're a youtube video freak... (use laptop in that case) you're probably paying too much

The 6GB plan is probably the $30 promotional one and in that case the step down is 500MB for $25 so you might as well just get the 6GB.

I signed a contract with Rogers over 2 years ago for 6GB of data per month for $30 a month, on my iPhone 3GS. In 2+ years, I have used...

13.5 GB for the phone
4.4GB in tethering

6GB is way more than enough.
