I had the second or third highest mark at my school and only got $100... are you sure it's only marks?

Did you submit your OSAP application on time? i think you were supposed to apply before a certain date to be considered for the QEII scholarship. And by looking at blue15's situation, it definitely is not just 80%+ ...so, like i said, it probably has to do with financial need as well

It's not only marks, see my post:

If you win the lottery your scholarship won't decrease in value if you are able to renew it (9.5 SA required).

I had an 85 average in my last year at high school, but I didn't get a red cent (and yes, I was in "financial need"). It depends on the top marks in your school for sure.

Did you apply to osap before june 19, 2009 (this was the deadline to apply to osap to be automatically considered for the scholarship)? If you did apply before the deadline and did not get anything, then you can file an appeal and the deadline for appealing should be sometime in late october/early november. You can contact the financial aid office for the procedure for filing appeals

camais says thanks to saukalra for this post.

There's also the deadline for submitting your supporting documents, which I believe was July 17th.

The description of it on the OSAP website says that it's for those who got an 80% or higher average in highschool and who are in financial need. I got like $1300 or something like that, which is awesome, lol.

The amount stays the same as what you get in the first year if you get higher than 9.5 CA.

That is correct, the amount almost always stays the same. It can only decrease but the reason for that is if you switch programs to one with a much lower tuition. (There's a cap for the amount you can get from the QEII depending on your tuition).

I was at an 87% to an 88% (not sure how they calculate the averages) and I got nothing either. We're a family of 6 with two kids in university and we don't make very very much at all. I got the low income family grant, which made me realise I do qualify as a high financial need recipient but still, nothing.

When I wrote to [email protected], I was informed there was no appeal process. Reading this thread, I've not sure anymore and don't really know what to do.

I think the great deal of ambiguity in issuing the scholarship is bogus. Perhaps clearer guidelines would cause more students, like myself, who expected at least a 100 bucks from this to invest our time and resources elsewhere. It's not only disheartening but sort of offending.
