Why oh WHY is this posted as a picture?

The technical incompetency in this student government blows my mind.

It's called pick up a copy of the Sil before the election or check out some Facebook groups.
Walk around campus and take note of the Sil stands. They're all full to the brim.

I liked the direction the elections committee took this year in marketing and advertising the election this year. However, there are still quite a few of the large index card-looking advertising paraphernalia used by the EC to advertise the elections. They better as hell reuse those next year. Slap a sticker on those bad boys to change dates.

Next year, there has to be some sort of overhaul about how these elections are advertised. There is absolutely NO incentive to go vote. It's not even just apathy anymore, people are just BORED of the system. DeGroote has some of the best and brightest marketing students/professors. HINT HINT MSU?

Hey Vishal,

Here's a piece of advice that will make your upcoming year as MSU President a success. Create a VP Communications position and hire Chad Fullerton to fill it. This guy knows what he is doing and will give the MSU the transparency to students it desires.

Communication is key.

Compared to marketing at other universities....

Take a look at the SFUO campaign:

www.iwillvote.ca and www.iwillrun.ca

That's a campaign. A few posters and shirts is not a campaign.

Amazing. I'm a sucker for campaigns (run by candidates and the EC) that are WELL PLANNED and have been carefully thought about.

Yes you can. As long as you are a member of the MSU (which as a full time student, you would be), you can run, even if you've run in the past.

What are you referring to, exactly? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm actually wondering what your complaint is in reference to.

I'm not at the MSU right now, so I can't really confirm this, but before I left the MSU, each department had at least some measure of control over their own page so they could be somewhat autonomous and not have to rely on the Webmaster all the time. That being said, I think it's a little unfair to equate 'technical incompetency' with someone doing a bad job. The Elections Committee has done a great job thus far this year and I don't think that just because someone may not be a technical genius, that it should be a reflection on their entire job performance.

My guess would be that posting it as a picture was faster and easier. And if you can read it, what difference does it even make? If the EC did it another way, it might have taken longer to post results and then the conspiracies would have started.

Pick your battles.
