Anyone else having trouble studying
It is the 2nd week back and still not feeling the kick telling me to study. It isn't that there is no homework at all, just feeling kind of lazy from the break and motivation level isn't the highest. I am not looking for sympathy here, just want to know if others feel the same way.
If you are the type to chill out during the first week or so, when and how do you tell yourself, "alright, let buckle down for another ride"? If unlike me, you are already in the "study" mode, how do you keep at it?
Let keep it clean.

i went out almost all frost week ... and i had 3 chapters from one textbook, 3 chapters from another, half a novel, applications to write, and 3 chapters from another textbook to read
im happy to say that i just have 2-3 more chapters left out of everything i need to have read by the end of this week
i know it's hard to get back in the jive especially being a first year ... after busting your buttocks for four months during first semester and having to do it all over again is quite tiresome
but ... you should be proud that you made it through the first semester and just keep your head up!
you'll make it !
don't push yourself to do everything at once ... just make a schedule of when you need things done by and do everything bit by bit

For me the key is routine. I find small blocks of time in my schedule weekly and I use those to get most of my reading done. Even if it's a chapter at a time, scratching it off the to do list feels good. Oh and the to do list, I keep one that just keeps growing. I scratch things off when I'm done, but leave them on the list so I can see the accomplishment. Every Saturday morning I know I have 3 hours, Monday afternoons my schedule is clear and Thursdays I don't have class until 2:30. I can count on those 3 days being good reading days so I try to make sure I don't schedule anything else during those times. HTH.

I find the key to force myself to study is to leave sticky notes for myself along the lines of "No PS3 until you read Chapters 5 & 10". It seems to work rather well actually.

Just sit back, relax, and fail a test. That should be enough motivation

Who actually reads their texts anyways. You keep up with it for the first two weeks and then stop. I hate that, becasue you spend $80 on course ware, never se it, and get decent/good marks anyways! I just bought a $63 book that I'll probably never read... I guess just having it makes me feel like I'll do better lol. I bought an $85 course ware last semester, read 3-4 chapters (very little), never used it again and still came out with a 10! Does this mean anything to you? Because it does to me: don't waste money on course ware!
