I'll be applying, however I have a question:

I'm applying for the accelerated nursing program, and to the best of my knowledge we don't get electives. If I was to overload and take 3TT3, would it be too difficult to handle?
Do we still have to pay for Psych 3TT3?
Does 3TT3 count towards a minor for Psych?
If we get it, but for whatever reason are no longer interested/able to be a TA, are we able to decline?
When do we find out if we we got the position/if we were rejected?
In terms of CUPE- is there anyway to not become a member?

Ok, several questions, lol.

I'll answer in sequence:

1) It is a significant workload - lots of reading, lots of presentations...but it also depends on your strengths. I did very well in the course with just a reasonable effort, whereas some other students felt a need to be fully fluent in every article we had to read.
2) Yes, it's still a course at Mac and tuition is the same
3) I believe so - you'll have to check your course calendar
4) If you get offered any job you're always able to decline. I would suggest though if you accept not leaving after that.
5) I believe (and not exactly sure yet) that interviews will be throughout Feb/March and you''ll hear back in April - it's a long process.
6) No way to avoid it - unfortunately.

As for actual work hours I can't give you a number - it completely depends on the individual. Some TAs are able to stay within the assigned approximately 60 hours per term. These hours are assigned on the assumption that the TAs remember everything they are supposed to teach well enough to teach it. Some TAs prefer to put in extra time to brush up on the material. Some decide to offer extra office hours. It all depends on you as an individual.
are there psych TAs who haven't taken any of the intropsychs, but have taken other upper year psych courses (because BHSc students have to take there own version of psych that is an antirequisite to IXX3)?

Ok, thanks. My plans are still very up in the air about next year, so I'll still apply just in case. When do we have to accept by? I won't know if I'm accepted to the nursing program until mid-june.

Not sure yet. I don't think Dr. Kim has set a date yet. But definitely apply - it can't hurt!

It appears that Intropsych is down, probably because of everyone rushing to complete lectures for the midterm. :p

Will the application be made available somewhere else?

I've e-mailed Dr. Kim to try to push the deadline a day or two once Intropsych is back up and running. Unfortunately with all of the students and an upcoming midterm, it does tend to crash!

Dr. Kim said he will open it up a bit longer due to the website crash. But keep checking and get it in ASAP!

The site is back up, but when you click "apply online" it just opens the same page in a new window, there isn't a way to open the actual application.
