If no one answers, every Faculty has their own careers and co-op services. I believe B Tech is Engineering: http://www.eng.mcmaster.ca/eccs/index.html

Hi Shreeya, tell your friend to check out the B.Tech website:
http://mybtechdegree.ca/home/

In B.Tech there are 3 specializations after first year:
1. Automotive and Vehicle Technology:

Learn about the design, operation and manufacturing of advanced combustion, hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles. Gain experience in CAD for component and system design, virtual-vehicle prototyping, and the use of simulation tools. Study vehicle safety design, mechatronics, advanced electronic control systems, and the selection of advanced materials for vehicle manufacturing applications. Employment opportunities include positions in automotive and vehicle assembly companies as well as firms designing and manufacturing parts and system components.

2. Biotechnology:

Study genetic engineering, cell biology, molecular and microbiology, analytical instrumentation, and bio processing. Learn about immunology, virology, genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics. Develop the skills that will allow you to pursue a career in pharmaceuticals, food production, analytical and testing services, as well as policy and regulation. Employment opportunities include positions as lab and production technologists, quality assurance and application specialists, drug and biotech sales and marketing representatives, bioinformatics specialists, and research and development associates.

3. Process Automation Technology:

Develop highly tuned analytical and design skills, and gain specialized knowledge in sensors, instruments, actuators, industrial networks, process control and automation, SCADA, programming, statistical process control, Internet technologies and integration of plant floor data with business systems. Employment opportunities include positions in manufacturing sectors such as steel, chemicals, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and power generation, as well as with companies that bring technological innovation for process automation and manufacturing applications to industry.

Hopefully that will give your friend a better understanding of the different specializations in B.Tech.

I agree with Jeremy, co-op is a great way to network, get experience and explore the field before actually graduating. I know a few people who were hired back with their co-op employer after graduating .

I heard from my friend that this program's affiliated with Mohawk College and you'll get an advanced Diploma from Mohawk College; just like Medical Radiational Sciences.

It's also mandatory to complete 12 months of co-op (usually done in each summer), which would be pretty neat.

Do you know which stream she wants to go into?

B.Tech job opportunities are pretty good, you also get to go on an 8month co-op. a lot of co-op students were recently hired from my year

from what i've been hearing, the rankings from easiest to find a co-op placement (or a job in general) to most difficult would be:
-process
-automotive
-biotech

some advice: don't rely on OscarPlus to find co-op, chances are that you'll most likely find a co-op placement on your own.
