I won't lie, i can't read novels anymore with my current workload, the mental strain would just implode my brain in combination with the req. readings for my courses. So when i do read with the few hours of spare time i get, i tend to read for pleasure. That being said, so far at school i've read:
Jpod, It's Kind of a Funny Story, and Survivor. All great books, but definitely not literary masterpieces, just fluff that entertains and inspires beyond that of a film or game.

Wow, I have a bunch of these books on my shelf and I haven't even bothered reading them. Time to make some sort of use on my break..

Ranking is based on how popular the book is, not content.
Yeah, I've only read maybe about 5 of those books in the last 4 years.... Maybe 10 in my whole life lol

I've only read 17 from this list.
btw GoodReads.Com is a good site to keep track of your reading! (read books/reviews, to-reads, etc.)

Come to think of it, why isn't there a dedicated forum for literature or even media for that matter? Guess we don't have a lot of novel readers on MI :(. Then again, looking at the activity of some other boards, i doubt there would be a lot of posts in that forum anyways.
Suggestion revoked.

It's actually an awesome suggestion! I've been trying to catch up, since reading novels isn't of very high priority during the term. And having a section of the forum dedicated to reading and such would definitely encourage me to read more! Also, there's an anime section on the forum, maybe we can expand that into literature as well.

You should definitely check out Never Let Me Go, its probably my favorite piece of dystopian fiction at this point. Its a bit more subtle than in most books, but still really good. Normally I wouldn't recommend a movie over a book, but if you're lacking time I've heard the movie was really well done.

I'm not well read apparently. I feel kinda gyped at the fact that many of my favourite novels are not listed. I'm also more of a nonfiction guy. My favourite book series has probably been Winston Churchill's History of the English Speaking Peoples.
