Bio 2B03 vs Health Sci 2K03
So I was planning on taking Cell Bio, 2b03 but it's full-then i saw health sci 2k03 cell bio. does anyone know if i could just take this as a prereqs to other courses that need 2b03 as they are antireqs to each other. also how similar are they?

Unless the prerequisite explicitly says Bio 2B03 OR Hlth Sci 2K03, then you can't substitute one for the other. I'm fairly certain, but you should call/talk to them on the 3rd to make sure.

The courses are equivalent and are anti-requisites of each other. 2B03 is for second years in the Faculty of science and Hth Sci 2K03 is only for those in the faculty of health science(the prerequisite courses for it are ones which you can only take if you were in health science i.e. 2D06, 2E03, 2N03)

This is from the undergrad calendar under Hth Sci 2K03:
An inquiry based examination of the relationship between cell structure and function. Students will be required to apply key concepts of cell biology to facilitate their understanding of timely problems in biomedicine.
Tutorials (three hours); Problem Based Learning and Computer Laboratories (three hours); one term
Prerequisite(s): CHEM 1AA3, HTH SCI 1I06; and HTH SCI 2D06, 2E03 or 2N03

Antirequisite(s): BIOLOGY 2B03, MOL BIOL 2B03

mebbe... but they might be cool about it and grant you permission. anyways, since they are anti-reqs, i wouldn't see a problem in enrolling in upper year courses but you might have to ask permission to enroll because it may not be automatic on solar.

ps why not just take bio 2b03? it would probably save you time and the hassle in the future.

It's the exact same course! And I loved Bio 2B03, and I'm sure it'll be even better with Dr. Dej next term!
