Biology 1M03
Depending on your high school background, Biology 1M03 serves as an introduction to evolution and ecology. As I have mentioned in the summary above, the term consists of three major units which are taught by three different professors.

Yes, that quote of hers is so random. Me and my friends pondered what would happen if the next day the seat disappeared.

I believe it was:
Midterm 1: 15%
Midterm 2: 15%
PBL: 10%
Exam: 40%
Labs: 15%
Participation: 5%
Its roughly something like that- someone who still has their course outline could post a more accurate breakdown though.

This was last year's marking scheme:
TEST #1 15%
TEST #2 15%
LABS 20%
PROJECT 10%
FINAL EXAM T.B.A. 40%
The project is the PBL.

Difficulty is up to each individual. I would say this course was easy except for the human evolution part.

You have to memorize a lot of names and different features associated with each thing.. we had a prof who kind of just read off the slides so she did not reinforce the material well.

It really all depends how good you are at memorization. I found Human Evolution to be boring but easy, and the rest of it to be interesting and easy. I tend to be much better at things that require memorization than things requiring understanding. ^.^

Depends on the type of memorization as well. I have a knack at memorizing some things but not others. For instance, I'm horrible with names but I can easily remember formulae, diagrams, processes, etc..
Generally you can play with the information to make it easier for you to memorize, but I found it very hard to do so with human evolution.

Never had Quinn. I think Kajiura is a pretty goof professor. She's speaks well and is pretty enthusiastic.

I've heard good things about Quinn, and I love Kajiura. But opinions on her seem to be pretty divided. She's extremely enthusiastic and takes a huge interest in making sure your first year is going well, which I thought was awesome.
But some people have already stated what they dislike about her in this and the other Bio thread.
