Blocked - outstanding account
Hello,

I went on SOLAR just now, to make sure everything was in order for my course selections tonight, and found the message "Blocked - outstanding account". I found out that I have to pay $150 and I had no clue where that came from. I did some searching and realized that I have been renewing a library book wrong, and the library thinks I lost the book. Basically, my question is: If I pay online today, will I still be able to register for my courses tonight? I'm in such a state of panic because there are courses I want to take that I'm told fill up very quickly.

Thanks in advance.

You should contact Student Accounts and Cashiers to make sure. http://www.mcmaster.ca/bms/student/SAC_contact.htm

Although Interac is supposed to be instant, it usually takes a couple days to confirm.

I just thought I would report how things turned out in case someone is ever in a similar situation. I called Student Accounts and Cashiers and the woman said that normally it would take a couple of days, but she took down my student number and when I used Interac, she instantly unblocked me. What a relief!

Thanks again, jhan523!!!

Watoko, ~*Sara*~ all say thanks to Allana:) for this post.

Lucky that you got someone to take care of that for you instantly! Last year I had a bill to pay on my account while waiting for second term final grades, everyone had received theirs and i had to wait an additional 3 days for my transaction to go through in order to finally view my marks. congrats on the quick thinking tho!

She said she could unblock for SOLAR, but there was nothing she could do for grades.

when I paid in person for a similar problem, it took a day to process. But I think if you pay with Interac online it should be instant.

Allana already asked and numerous other people have also paid by Interac and it's not actually instantaneous. Yes, they "receive" the money instantly but it still has to be confirmed which takes a couple days.
