Book edition differences?
i'm planning to buy used books from upper years to save money, but the book from the previous year has a different edition, eg. Chem 1A03/1M03 from last year has edition 9 and this year's is edition 10. can someone please outline the differences between these editions? thank you!

Yeah usually one edition differences won't affect you much... it's also a good idea to ask for your prof's opinion too, unless he/she's the author then they'll want you to buy the new edition!

What's Chem 1M03?

Usually it's not a problem if you have an older edition, however, if the prof assigns practise problems or tests material directly from the textbook it can be an issue, since the problem numbers won't match up and you might have problems finding the part of the textbook you're tested on, and if you can find it, it might be missing testable details.

Actually, the chapters could be entirely moved around, reordered, reorganized/split up/meshed together, depending on the book. If you're in doubt, ask the prof if an older edition is okay. Usually, if the course doesn't rely too heavily on the textbook, you should be fine with an older edition

m0nica says thanks to nerual for this post.

Lol, Kajiura isn't the author of those books though. I'm pretty sure she gets money from the author, though (Scott Freeman)...at the very least, she gets free meals from him

I don't even have an appropriate reaction to that.
This must be what they were discussing over dinner
LOL I don't know about the biker bf, but she definitely spent a good 10mins telling us about how Scott Freeman took her to dinner

LOL that doesnt surprise me at all.
And she's probably scott freeman's personal banner ad and gets paid for every single time she mentions him or his text book.
That would explain why every other sentence she says contains his name

I told my housemate...and I'm just going to quote her, because she said it so much better than I ever could:

"Can we please please please go to one of her classes? And here her say 'well, as I wrote on page blah blah blah, and Scott totally agrees with me...' "
