Bursary Release?
Does anyone know (maybe from experience with past years) when you'll be informed if you're getting a bursary?
Also, generally how likely are you to get one? I've been told that they are pretty common, but Im not sure what they base it on

Thanks!

Yeah, sometime near middle of semester II. Before the exam schedule was up, I think, because I don't remember worrying about exams at the same time.

Depends when you applied. The earlier you applied the faster you receive your bursary. Last year i applied in December i think and got mine at the end of January. If you received it last year you can check when you applied and when you received it.

Not so sure about this. I applied pretty late in first-year (Decemberish) and early in second (within a week of the application being up) and I'm pretty sure I got both at the same time I heard everyone else did.

Also, there's a topic about last year's release date. I only found it because I knew what to search though; it's a shame that the search criteria is so specific.

On an unrelated note, rereading that topic was fun. We <3 you, Katia.

When I went to pick up my OSAP, one of the ladies working there told me that bursaries will be released as early as January 16th and then will continue to be released through to some time in February (can't remember the exact date).

We're not talking about those ones.

These bursaries are the ones you apply to through MUGSI.

She asked if I was receiving any additional income I had not mentioned on my original application. When I mentioned that I had applied on MUGSI for bursaries, that is what she told me.

I actually talked to Financial Aid this morning and was told that they are still in the process of assessing applications, and that it should take another week or so.

Oh my good god... I am shellshocked by my amount. God, that takes so much stress off.

And this is all free, right? Doesn't have to be repaid?
