CA is you 'Cumulative Average', meaning the average for your grades over all your years (1,2,3,4). GPA is just your 'Grade Point Average' for the term/year

Though McMaster tends to use a SA over a GPA, meaning a Sessional Average -- which is your average for that academic year and ranges from 0 to 12. You can convert that to a GPA which is the four point scale.

From my understanding, GPA just means Average. So you can say CGPA or cumulative grade point average. You can also say SGPA or Sessional Grade Point Average.

It really depends on the program and the school because it varies. The particular masters program I want to get into wants a certain GPA for the last two years. So it's upto you to check out say the website or get in touch with an academic advisor to find out.
