Hey, Welcome to Mac! I'm a first year too, so I would'nt know how long it takes to adjust. I'm guessing that really has to do with the highschool you went to and how well you adapt, lol. Durring frosh week, I hear there are faculty parties and get-togethers, so I'm willing to bet that those are the easiest ways to meet your faculty. You could always just go to your lectures and talk to people, make friends in your faculty that way Hope to see you around!

And now for another session of "Advice on meeting new people from the guy who shouldn't be giving advice on meeting new people":
=========

- If you're in rez, talk to people in your common room, although it'll be harder for residences like Bates and Keyes where you get your own living room. Then it's just attending activities or events within your rez.

- Get to know your roommate. Unless you're really *that* incompatible (in which you could just switch roommates if needed)

- Tutorials. Easiest way to meet people within your faculty. Even easier if your class has group assignments.

- MacInsiders has a few get-togethers. Some official, some unofficial. Unless you feel weird about meeting people you talked to over the internet. I eventually got used to it. =/

It's not quite that easy to change roommates. If you have problems with your roommates you have to work it out with them. Housing isn't going to switch you. If it's something else, like your roommates threatens to kill you every night or something that makes you feel not safe then talking to housing would be a smart idea. You should also talk to your CA if that's the case.

But I don't think that ever happens...

I know someone who switched rooms in first year. I never asked what happened though.

Hence why "that" is covered in stars
