I'm REALLY pissed. Facilities painted the walls of the Hang'r, erasing the murals that were painted and signed by residents of previous years. This is utter bullshit, and erases relevant history of McKay.

The McKay RLS staff team fought to keep it, offering to rally students to repaint the offensive material from the murals. Yet, without any hesitation, the murals were painted over.

Angry emails aren't going to bring the paintings back.

Yeah thanks for the altogether brilliant comment. The point isn't to get them back, the point is to let the University know that they ****ed up, and they shouldn't pull shit like this without thinking about it.

If we said "oh well" every time someone did something stupid, its just more license for them to do even more.

I just went down there. I didn't even know that happened. Such a shame. A lot of McKay history down there. It's completely white... Other than two murals (the super mario one and the mckay on with the handprints). Yes, the too drunk (to walk) one is down too.... McKay just lost most of its character.

No wonder nobody gives a shit about student life at Mac. The administration is too busy whitewashing all the traditions.

perhaps instead of sending negativity to mcmaster, maybe we could look into making new "appropriate" murals.

yes. i do realize that in a few years, they'll probably paint those over too. but maybe start a tradition to paint a new one every year and paint over one by one, rotating each year?

anyone know who to go to for this? my guess is IRC?... but.... I'll keep my comments about this years IRC to myself.

i lived in mackay in 2003/4. what is the hang'r? is that that room in the basement? i think i only went in there once during welcome week...
