- Built in 1965, McKay Hall houses 280 men and women on 6 floors
- Adjacent to Commons Building on the north side of campus
- One elevator located at the front entrance of the building
- Rooms can house one (single), two (double) or three (triple) occupants
- Separate male and female washroom facilities spaced throughout the floors
- Residents share furnished common rooms/lounges on each floor with cable television and a larger multi-purpose room in the lower level
- Also shared are kitchenettes each having a refrigerator, stove, a microwave, toaster and kettle (dishes and cutlery not supplied)
- Laundry facilities, with irons and ironing boards and study rooms are located in the lower level
- Tunnel access from the basement to "The Market Place" dining facility located in the Commons Building
Room Features
Bed, bulletin board, carpeted floors, desk, desk chair and desk lamp or bookcase with lighted fixture, drapes, garbage can, dresser drawers and/or wardrobe or Captain's bed drawers, mirror, telephone handset, internet and phone service

ooh, good. I didn't really hear much about mckay until I searched for info after I got assigned there. now I'm excited, because I've heard a lot of good things.

A lot of first year students had McKay as a top choice when picking their residence this year.
And I had a friend on the top (5th?) floor of McKay, and his room was really nice. He had a skylight, which made it really pretty.

really? thats good to know.
... but im on the third so no skylight for me... lol
but everyone said that the rooms are really big because they are meant to be triples, but they were converted to doubles! so thats pretty cool! and apparently every room is different.
i want to know what mine looks like!!!

The one I was in was of a fair size.
And McKay common rooms have balconies! One of two reses on campus with balconies!

balconies? skylights? wow, this is better than I thought. I never got a chance to check out mac before coming, and I went solely based on my friend's opinions. sounds like that worked out well for me.

i lived in mckay hall first year our room was pretty big....I LOVED IT plus the washrooms are spread out on the floor, so u will hardly ever have to wait for one, i never did

McKay rooms don't have balconies; only their common rooms do.
Whidden is the only res that has balcony rooms.

No. You must be 9m away from the building to smoke; so you'll have to use the smoking shelter at the entrance.
