I been using the rez phone to talk to people inside my rez with the 5digit number thing

all local calls from your rez phone are free.

And since extensions aren't routed through the company phone exchange, it would be upon Mac to decide to charge you with that, but they don't...so no worries

you already paid for it in ur student fees. any extra is long distance
