Campus Texting Bubble
A few days out of the week, I cannot send/receive texts properly on campus, often the moment I get on campus any texts I send only go half the time. SUP WIT DIS BRAH?
Right after I leave campus at the end of the day I receive like a bajillion missed texts.
I have come up with two distinct possibilities:
1) Super secret physics lab interference interfering with my QUANTUM TUNNELING
2) Thieving text gnomes.

OR...let me just throw this out there for some apparent reason, maybe your cell phone company has bad or limited service at or around mac?
Although, I'm sure you've considered that possibility already, right? I mean, my theory is just nowhere close to being correct when considering the two possibilities suggested above...
On another note, hahaha, nice ('thieving text gnomes', I'd go with imps but that's your choice)

This is the same situation for me. I'm with Bell. I think it's because they keep adding tall concrete buildings on mac and blocking out the signal from the cell tower. So mac becomes a dead zone. I think fido/rogers doesn't have this problem, so they're tower must be closer or more powerful.

Maybe it's time to switch to Fido/Rogers.

I have Rogers and still have this problem. Maybe not as often, but it can take forever for some texts to be sent.

I'm with Telus and I have the same problem. Apparently the 3G network becomes clogged because of how many people are trying to send/receive. Usually the service is fine in the morning when there aren't as many people on campus.

Wind is just terrible in terms of service, I find. I rarely had this problem with Rogers in terms of sending texts, but a ton of people told me that they were sending me texts I wasn't receiving. I never got anything when I moved away from Mac though so I'm curious as to where they are

I don't have this problem, I'm with Fido.
Only time I get no reception is sometimes in MDCL.

I'm on bell and I don't have any unexpected problem on campus.
When I am outside the service is greatbut it does tend to drop off inside buildings but That is pretty normal. The only weird thing I do get is when ever I walk into GH I lose all singal. No idea why. it can also be spotty in MDCL. The rest of campus is great. Way more bar than I would ever get at my parents house.
One weird thing is that the highest signal I have ever gotten is right at the main entrance at main and emerc=son. Anyone else get that. I didn't know that the scale even when that high on my phone. =)

I'm with Rogers at the moment. I have this problem sometimes. I also get texts out of order as well. I find that in TSH I can hardly send texts at all. Only certain places on campus are dead zones for me.
On another note: dead zones for wifi (ie. the only one spot between the bookshelves with a wall outlet on the 6th floor of Mills). Even worse.

I'm on rogers, and I haven't been getting this problem lately, then again, I'm like never on campus.

What's annoying for me is my phone (samsung something or other) will say it has 5 bars but then when I go to send a text it goes "oh did I say 5, I meant 0" so I give up and it goes "great news 5 bars."
