Summary: Wireless Update

Wireless access on campus has experienced some issues over the last several days. Growing demand for wireless access resulted in a device exceeding its capacity during peak demand periods. UTS has replaced this device with one offering higher capacity which we expect to address the issue.
There have been some wireless issues in the Thode library as a result of recent renovations which has resulted in increased demand in certain areas of the library. Additional wireless access points and upgrades to existing components have been completed.
UTS will continue to monitor and tune the wireless network as usage patterns evolve.
Thank you for your patience as we address these issues.

If you continue to experience wireless connectivity issues, please contact the UTS Service Desk.
A day late, a buck short, but its nice to have the report.

Props on it taking only about a week. Certain other help "desks" (not at the University) take months to address problems.

"But yea if i am paying 15-20K per year to the university, they better let me know if there are problems with the wifi instead of just hiding it, and saying its fine."

Really? $20,000 a year?

Yes if you are doing graduate studies then your tuition fees can be 12K+, add that with your living expense and you will probably reach almost 20K, sometimes even more depending on the program.

M.E.E.I. (Full-time)
$14976 Canadian
$22896 International
